Research into my own Bell family tree has unearthed records concerning Roderick Maxwell's 1935 conviction for armed robbery - he got 8 years BTW. The unwilling witness for the prosecution was James Bell and after absconding, being arrested, forced to testify he eventually gets handed down a prison sentence for contempt. Does anyone know anything about this, especially anything relating to where James ran to after his release as I doubt he stayed in Armadale ;-) Feel free to email me, mark AT motleyweb.net Mark |
