Hello All! My great-grandmother was a Maxwell and my closest Scottish relation with a clan surname (my grandfather took my great-grandfather’s English name Tomes). I know really one is supposed to ask the clan chief for permission. I am aware with Maxwell this is extremely difficult. Does anyone know whom I should ask or if there is someone to ask? Thanks! HT
