My cousin Tom Maxwell after his return from Scotland in 1991 gave me this book "The World Book of Maxwells" published by Halbert's Family Heritage, copyright 1900. Certificate of registration No. 17179. It contains among many other things a Maxwell International Registry. Maxwell's located in Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland, United States and Wales. Also the Early Maxwell Immigrants to North America. Which lists the persons name, port of entry, where they settled and the reference book where their name was found. If any of the Maxwell researchers would like to know of a certain Maxwell located in a certain place, please email me at and I will look it up. Also will look up Maxwell surname and year of entry into the US. My Maxwell's from Ireland, Scotland to America after 1777, then to Jefferson Co. Oh. Still searching for my ancestors of Charles Maxwell, b. 1777 Ireland said to be the son of William & Sarah Maxwell of Scotland. I must say this Maxwell World Website is a great find, and I have enjoyed it very much. My father who will be 86 in Feb. will enjoy the pages that I printed out for him to read.
