| I am currently researching Thomas Maxwell of Virginia, abt. 1715. I know that familysearch.com has submitted a Joel and Eustice as ancestors. There could be mistakes with Joel...also sounds like George and looks like John or James. I am presently on the web searching to see if Maxwells inhabited the Maxwellton House, formerly Glencairn Castle, before the Lauries. If not, I agree with Anthony Maxwell, that possibly they lived around Calderwood in 1688. I have also read that two brothers, Thomas and William, were born in Barbadoes around 1700. Their parents were William and Susanna Maxwell. I don't know if he is our (Virginia) Thomas or why they were in Barbadoes. There were several Thomas Maxwells recorded over the centuries. It would be nice to find a connection to his family in Scotland! Please let me know if you find anything. |
