I am trying to find a connection to my Maxwell leanage. In 1790 Ship Capt. James Maxwell brought rum to Hawaii and a high Chief who became King Of Hawaii, Kamehameha The Great, drank rum(or whiskey)for the first time. James Maxwell jumped ship an married the High Priest granddaughter. His name was changed to the Hawaiian equivelant of Maxwell(Makuwela) then when it was proper to have and english name, my great grandfather's name was changed back to Willaim Kahikina Maxwell. My Grandfather's name was George Washington Maxwell, and my father was William Kahupahu Maxwell, anyone can help me find my Scot roots? Mahalo a nui loa(thank you very much) My website is www.kale@moolelo.com, aloha Charles Kauluwehi Maxwell Sr, Pukalani, Maui Hawaii
