i live in chicago now, but am from saint clair shores michigan. most of my kirk family comes from alabama. you can search for saint andrews society which is a scottish society that holds highland games and other events. i was in their pipeband for a bit, and i found a maxwell clan tent at one of their highland games. though it might have been for the canadian society as opposed to the american society. but it was through the st andrews society and their events that i found information on my name as well as other resources.
