Interesting, Los Lunas is a "suburb" of Albuquerque, just a few miles south. Ft. Sumner is about 200 mi to the southeast. I have made that trip many times by car. After living in Albuquerque for almost 20 years, and being a western history buff, I tend to agree that Telesfor is probably not the child of Billy the Kid. I do find it interesting, however, that Pauleta is found so far from Ft. Sumner, her home. One one trip, I drove the last ride of Billy the Kid, starting in the Town of Lincoln and ending at the gravesite in Ft. Sumner, a distance of a good 100 miles. It is amaizing that they could cover such distances, in those days, over such rugged terrain, most of which is desert. But, the Lucian Maxwell family were extraordenary and hearty to say the least.
