My grandfather William Maxwell was Irish,and Catholic, he was born in Brooklyn NY abt 1864. He died in Butte MT in 1945. His father a John Maxwell born in Ireland married to Kate English also born in Ireland. Their children were Edgard ...Agnes...  William (my grandfather and 1 or 2 more children.  John Maxwell was living in Philadelphia when He deserted His family after the 1880 census. He is supposed to have left town with another woman so perhaps He started a second family in another area? He was an artist by trade and was working on stained glass windows in a Cathedral in Phil. at the time. He was also a sculpture and the woman He left town with was supposed to have been modeling for Him. I would like any info or Ideas. Any decendants of Edgard Maxwell or Agnes Maxwell Grey(Gray) out there? Kate English lived out her life in Penn I think and never remarried.
