I don't have a Richard listed, but I have some ancestors from GA and SC. Could you give a little more info, like sibling or children names. Mine starts with a Reuben Kirkland born in 1760 living in SC (not sure if he was born there). Wife Mary Clark, their children were born in Edgefield SC (it is implied that there were more kids, but it only lists Reuben Jr). Reuben Jrs kids were all born in Bibbs GA. After Reuben Jr died his kids changed their name to Kirtland and moved to AL.
