While attending the Quechee Festival in Vermont this past 2006, a woman came to our Maxwell Tent asking about her direct Maxwell family. Here is her information. Jeremiah(Maxy)Maxwell (he is listed in various places under one or the other spelling, but in such a way that there is no doubt that it is the same person)he is listed in the History of Belgrade Maine.  It gives his wife's name as Phebe Downs and their marriage date as ll August 1805. (This from the Augusta Vital Records, as he got married in Augusta ME)  They are listed as "settled in Belgrade" after the Rev. War.  I have him as having been born in Mass.   Their daughter was Phoebe Maxwell born 03 March 1813 in Belgrade, Kennebec Co. ME (V.R.Belgrade).  She married Benjamin A. Trask on 07 October 1832 in Augusta, Maine (she died?) (listed as living in 1870 census). Living in Cornville, Somerset Co. ME (she was living with a daughter and none in the family has record of where she was when she died.
