My great-great grandmother was Mary A. Maxwell (b1846 in Philadelphia).  She married Alfred Tees (b1843) in 1862.  Early census records indicate that her parents were not born in the United States.  She also had a sister named Jenny but I am unaware of any other siblings. She had a daughter Ida (b1863) and twin sons William H. and Charles A. (b1867).  Charles was named for his paternal grandfather and I am speculating that William may have been named for his maternal grandfather. I know that the Painter/Faunce/Rice names are also in my family but I have not determined where.  Can anyone offer any insight to the Maxwells of Philadelphia?  Thnx! Kathryn Becek giverny26@home.com
