Title: MAXWELLs in Newport Pagnell, Bucks, England

I wonder if anyone has family info for a William MAXWELL gent of Newport Pagnell, Bucks whose Will was proved in PCC London on 17 Jul 1722.  He named a wife Sarah, children Robert, George & Magdalen (the latter married to an Ambrose GREGORY), sisters Agnes, Nicolas, Jean, Margaret & Catherin, and describes considerable property in Cranfield, Beds & New Abbey Kirkcudbright as well as Newport Pagnell.  He was one of the lessees of the Independent Meeting House in Newport in 1702, had settled there by the 1680s, was witness for the Will of John BLACKLOCK laceman in 1709 and overseer to the Will of Nelson BLACKLOCK (son of John) lace merchant in 1711.  It's very likely William MAXWELL was a laceman or draper too.  I'm researching the settlement of Scottish Presbyterian lace & linen dealers in north Bucks & nearby counties before the Act of Union in 1707.  Any thoughts or info will be welcome.  Celia Renshaw in Chesterfield UK.
