Hello, I've always been a Titanic buff and I was recently going through some documents pertaining to the ship when I realized that there was a crew member named John Maxwell on board. I dug a bit deeper, and found this information: -He was born in Liverpool -He served on the Majestic as well as the Titanic -He gave his address when he signed onto the ship in Southampton as 27 Leighton Road, Southampton -He was a carpenter/joiner on the RMS Titanic -He was married (I never found the name of his wife) -Titanic records state him as being 31, but the family gravestone states he was 29 -According to the gravestone (located in Liverpool), he was the eldest son of Andrew and Ellen Maxwell and sister of Agnes The gravestone is located in Kirkdale Cemetary, Fazakerley, Liverpool. Also stated on the gravestone is that Andrew died March 17, 1895 at 46, Ellen died on August 19, 1939 at 83, and Agnes died on February 19, 1927 at 51. If anyone else can shed any light on this mysterious Maxwell, such as who he was married to, if he had any children, and what has happened to his family line, I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance! |
