By the way, it is not THE Maxwell coat of arms as there isn't one. There are only Arms designated for individuals or decendants of said individual. The Arms you have seen belong to one branch of our large and illustrious family. Probably having served in the army of the Holy Roman Emperor. Most Scottish Maxwells can't profess to that, including mine! If you could e-mail me a copy of the arms I may be able to identify it and even show you mine!!
