William J. Maxwell b. 1835 Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 6th of 8 children born to William Maxwell and Elizabeth Toner who came to Canada from Ireland c. 1835-37. Married Arvilla Dibble 10 Mar 1861 in Hastings, Ontario, Canada. They moved first to Michigan and then to Washington and had 12 children.  Arvilla died in 1890 and William married Mercy Chamberlain.  It was not a happy marriage and they separated before his death in 1907.  I have pictures of William and Arvilla posted on my ancestry.com site.
