For several reasons, I have moved back to Taos, New Mexico. Nine years ago, when I lived here, I became interested in Lucian B. Maxwell, and the Maxwell Land Grant. I know that I am from another branch of the Maxwell tree, but I hope to do more research on this line. I know that Lucian came from Illinois, and that his grandfather was supposed to have came from Ireland. But, that is as far back up the line as I have. I am most interested in his line back to his origans in Scotland. After the first of the year, I will start a tree on ancestry.com for Lucian, working back. His is a great story, and a large part of American History in the west, and should be told.
