ear Patty Goodson Maxwell, I hope it is okay for me to reply to your post below from 2009. The baptism you mention from Buittle in Apr 1740 would seem to be Robert Maxwell of Blackbelly (who married Elizabeth Maxwell of Hazelfield)'s son William. My 5xgt grandmother was Robert's eldest half-sister Jean by their father Robert's (4th Bt of Orchardtoun) first marriage. I have a copy of a family tree which was drawn up for George Maxwell of Munches (sometime in the 1800s) which shows this, but I have not found records of Jean's baptism as yet. You mention the Buittle records, which is where I think I need to be looking. If you were please able to provide me with any information or pointers, it would be greatly appreciated. With all good wishes Adrian Radcliffe tempradcliffe [at] yahoo.co.uk (apologies for anti-spambot disposable email above, this is the correct one) |
