I am attempting to locate the ancestors to Sidney Maxwell, born 1770 in Virginia (?), died 1855 in Ashe County, North Carolina;  Married to Catherine Elsberry (father John); My lineage comes down from Sidney/Catherine's son Larkin. I am a great-nephew to Hiram (Littleton) Maxwell, who has done extensive research on the Maxwells.  Attempting to determine if Sidney is in fact the son of Capt. Thomas Maxwell from Tazewell County, VA., or, if he came directly from Scotland, or...?? Any help would be appreciated.   Thank you.
