Sue, No surprise there; Ct. or WVa. was only a different ship from Ulster or Scotland for brothers. I have been tracing James Maxwell of Pa. who fought through the Revolution and lived to old age in Butler Pa. From your area Maxwells were probably from Pa. But there were some from Tazewell in Va. in the mountains. And thousands of others! My father in law came here from near Morgantown (to NY) and I know your state fairly well. Most early people knowingly married cousins but it is a surprise with such distance and time involved, in your case. But... I wrote to a Cheryl Haught who married a distant cousin Haught and both are related to my wife Rebecca Haught Cady; but Cheryl is a relative of mine from early Pa. ancestors before 1700! Maxwells were easy to love for there are so many of them! Don |
