I don't know if you have found anymore information on this one, but he has two sons that I know of.  Silas G. Maxwell was born in Salem, Washington County, Indiana, in 1833.  He died in the Civil War, at Hilton Hill, SC, on January 24, 1864.  He was a private in the 13th Regiment, Company "G".  My source of the report is the Adjutant General of the State of Indiana 1865.  I am researching the Maxwell line and Caswell F.
