Over the past couple of years I have gained a little more information on Marmaduke Maxwell. He was in Iowa in 1870 for the census. He was in Deer Creek, (Roseburg), Douglas County, Oregon at the time of the 1880 census. In 1886 he was Naturalized and resident in Wasco County, Oregon. He died as late as the 1930's somewhere in Oregon and there is apparently a newspaper obituary in a Portland based newspaper. He appears to have been single in 1880 but may have married after this date. I would very much appriciate it if anyone with access to any census details, particularly those in the 20th century could look up Marmaduke. His name is apparently unique so if you find a Marmaduke Maxwell anywhere in the USA, he is the one. I would welcome any information anyone can offer. Regards Anthony Maxwell Webmaster |
