James: There could possibly be a connection here. I have William Maxwell, b. 1785 in "Carolina", was one of the earlies settlers in the Washington Co., AR., near Fayetteville. I don't know the decendency of each of the children but my husband is decended from Williams second son John James. John had a son, James J. b. Jan 1856 and a William b. 1853. You can see how the names keep repeating. You James William could be the son of one of the other children. Let me know if you would like the list of Williams children. It would give you some possibilities. I don't know of any that went to Ga. but then I just found out that my husbands Grandfather was born in TX then they moved back to AR. I just finished going through the 1900 census for there and was surprised at how few Maxwells I found so they scattered to somewhere. Pat Stevens
