I do not have any spacific information but there was constant sea traffic between Liverpool and Dumfries (on the Nith) and Dalbeattie (on the Don). the hinterland of both burghs providing food and dairy products to the city of Liverpool. Also, all the granite from Dalbeattie bound for the London Embankment passed through Liverpool docks. Maxwells from the south-west went to Liverpool in their hundreds. |
