I am trying to locate information on the marriage of Abner B Maxwell to an Anna.  Abner was married to Eliza(beth)Howard and divorced her about 1870.  In the 1880 Taylor, Buffalo, Nebraska census Abner is listed having a wife, Anna and two children, Ida M and Victor H Maxwell.  I believe Victor is Herman Victor Maxwell, my husband's great grandfather because of the birth date and place of birth. Anna applied for Abner's Civil War pension after he died so I trust he really did remarry!! The obituary for Abner says he had a daughter, Mrs RW Wilburn, a son in Iowa and another daughter.  I did find Ida M Married to a Ralph W Wilburn.  I am uncertain of the other daughter, and believe the obit may have made an error and should have stated he had two sons and one daughter.  According to what I have been told, Abner and Elizabeth had one son, William Grant Maxwell. It's quite possible Ida and Victor/Herman were actually Abner's step children but until I can find documentation of Anna and Abner's marriage I am at a loss. My husband had a Maxwell-DNA test done and it wasn't very promising he was a true Maxwell.  So, for this to be true then the two children listed with Abner and Anna have to be her children not Abner's.... Anyway if anyone could possibly direct me I would love to hear from you. I have thought of obtaining the CW records of Abner with the hope it will show at one point when they married... Dee
