I don't know if you can help me... But I am trying to find out my ancesors parents' names.  John b. 1747 and his brother James came to the U.S. from Maxwellton, Scotland around 1751-1752.  If we are looking at the same Maxwell line, then I do have lots of info. from Scotland, I just need to make a connection there.  I have made many trips to Dumfries with my father in search of family history.  Just let me know...
