Greetings to the Clan

I recently discovered your web page and would like to pass my compliments to the webmaster on an excellent site I found most entertaining. I agree with the gunnery sergeants' comments in the forum, I was also proud to discover our long and proud history from lords and knights, physicists, tradesmen and villains. A Knight Templer even!
As one of my hobbies I have an interest in battle and clan swords, clan armour and shields, helmets and crests and any reference to or examples of coats of arms, badges or capes. I also have a specific interest in the art of blacksmith as it pertains to handforging combat swords and crucible steel. My interest in the Clan armour and shields is limited to the Maxwells of course, being a Maxwell I'm happy to be biased. I'm starting from square one, so any info would be greatly appreciated. I will email Anthony Maxwell shortly as I've read your posting in forum.
A little information about myself. I am a Trade Journeyman Commercial Transport Mechanic living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am the eldest of three brothers of James Norman Maxwell and Barbara Eleanor (Worth) Maxwell. My grandfather was James (Tim) Maxwell b.14 mar 1893 in Kinbrea, North West Territories (later became Saltcoats Saskatchewan), d.7 October, !975 in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. My Great Grandfather Thomas Maxwell is our connection to Scotland with my Great Grandmother.
Thomas Maxwell b. Christmas Day 1847 Arbroath, Forfarshire, Scotland. d.8 July 1929 in Grandview, Manitoba. He married: Annie Elizabeth Airth at Crosshill, Brechen, Scotland on 10 June 1885. Annie was born 4 March 1853 in Edinburgh, Scotland. d.30 December 1945 in Grandview, Manitoba. I have information back two more generations but I'll save that info and the questions I have for the genealogy forum.
I've lived in Calgary for about five years. I was born in B.C. and have lived or worked in most of B.C.. I am a skier, fisherman and love  camping (no winibago, no microwave, no a/c, but we no longer require that your kill your food) and the great outdoors. For the time being we still have air you can't see, out of the city of course, so life is pretty good. Any questions about my neighbourhood (B.C., Alberta) please feel free to ask. Come to the Calgary Stampede. 180 lbs cowboy.....1800 lbs MEAN bull....I've seen it and I still don't believe my eyes.
Well time to go, have to continue the quest for the LOST CHIEF OF THE CLAN. Don't ya love a good mystery.
PS. I'm new at the net so please excuse the mistakes.                            randy
