What a wonderful site!  According to "folk lore" "three Maxwell brothers came from Donegal, Co., IRE about 1800.  Two of the three brother's names are known : David and Moses.  My GGGgrandfather was Jesse (son of David) and in his 60th wedding anniversary to wife Anna, a 1902 newspaper announcement stated, "...Mr. Maxwell comes from a family of sixteen children - eight daughers and eight sons.  He is the only surviving son; one daughter, Mrs. J. Stoffer, 86 years of age, is also living."  My Maxwell line settled in Westmoreland Co, PA and moved to IL early 1840's.  It's so great knowing my Maxwell heritage!
