I am not related, but I was reading the May 1970 issue of Frontier Times magazine and on page 4 saw a letter about Robert Riley Maxwell.  Here is the text of the letter.

"Rides with the Youngers"
Dear Sirs:
My husband introduced me to your wonderful TRUE WEST and FRONTIER TIMES about six years ago and I have been reading them ever since.  I enjoy reading about the Old West and the wonderful people who made it possible for me to be here today.
My grandfather, whom I'm sure most people would say they could have done without, was an outlaw and used to ride with the Younger brothers.  Five of my great-uncles also rode with them.  But as they were part of the Old West, I would like to know if anyone can give me any information about them.  I don't know their full names but here are the names my mother gave me:  Robert Riley Maxwell (my grandfather), Jess and Wess Maxwell (twins), Ben Maxwell, George Maxwell and Ed Maxwell.
My mother tells me that a book was written about the Youngers, the Starrs and the Maxwells.  I don't know when it was written or if it was ever published.  I don't know the title and I know I am not much help but I am sure if there is such a book, it would be rare.  All of my great-uncles and my grandfather came from Porum, Oklahoma and my mother says she thinks that is where the book was written.  It had to be in or around 1896 to 1900.
I do hope you or some of your readers can help me.  It would be nice to know about the Maxwells, even though they were outlaws!
Mrs. John C. Arnold, 14148 Gain Street, Arleta, California 91331

That is the full text of the letter to FRONTIER TIMES.  If you look in www.theultimates.com you will find that there is still a person with last name of Arnold in Arleta CA, perhaps a relative.  Since it was 34 years ago, the letter writer may not be alive anymore.  As for the book you might try Google or Amazon for a book about the Younger brothers gang.
