To Maggie Morrisey My great grandfather was James Wardlaw Crawford MILLER from Portobello Edinburgh (an Inn Keeper) and was married in 1876 to a Helen Wight . His father , according to a marriage certificate I got from the 'Scotlandspeople website, was a Captain James Wardlaw and his mother, Jessie Crawford from Lieth. I don't know how my great grandfather got the name 'Miller', but all his sons , Robert, James And Otto were given names of WARDLAW CRAWFORD MILLER, and his daughters were ALL WARDLAW MILLERS. Don't know if this is interesting for you or not but hope so. My Grandfather Robert Wardlaw Crawford Miller became a seaman and got his masters certificate in Edinbugh, then seems to have arrived in Newcastle, Australia. He died in 1946 3 years before I was born. |
