Our NZ branch of Maxwell's have had DNA tests done at both 23and me and FTDNA in order to compare against any other branch of Maxwell's from this Killaney ,Boardmills region. Lismore is also not far from here and another settlement of Lismore was established in NSW Australia. One member from our NZ Maxwells made Lismore, NSW Australia his home and there was another Maxwell family also as founding members.At least one marriage occurred between these two Maxwell branches. Indications from DNA matches so far shows a strong possibility that family rumors are correct in terms of many of our matches surnames having this geographical area in Ireland in common
