Your "extensive info on Maxwells in Knox & Blount" sounds SOOOO encouraging!

I am a descendant of the James Maxwell who married Sarah Moore in 1802 in Blount.  It seems names such as Hannah, Jenkins, Cunningham, Scott, and perhaps Gillespie may connect.  I believe James Maxwell and Sarah Moore moved to Lincoln County where they were until about 1835.  At that time they migrated over to Randolph County, MO. with Hannah & Cunningham families.  One Maxwell connection in Randolph Co., MO says the Maxwell - Jenkins connection was from Kentucky.

Do you have any data on this James?  I think he possibly came from North Carolina.  Thanks!  Gerri George
