Dear David Not much use I am sure, but my father Vincent Maxwell Hayes, [why I am on this site]about whom I know little re genealogy, was part of the newly formed Number 3 commando unit. They did all their training in Achnacarrie[sic] which believe was in the west of scotland on the coast-and they trained in cliff scaling and assault. In case you have any info, I am looking for any Maxwell who may have been living in or passing through Manchester in February 1916- He may be my paternal grandfather Thanks Mike |
