I have a family living in Inch in Wigtownshire in late 1812, then found in Stranraer in 1820 (birth of son John) and again in 1841, William Blain married to Mary Maxwell, several children including my g-grandfather William Blain, youngest in the family (b. 1838). However, the marriage was in Donaghadee, in 1812 - there is a note in the Inch Kirk Sessions about it, as it wasn't approved in Scotland.  I think that Mary Maxwell may have been from County Down and am looking for Maxwells there. Her father may have been a John Maxwell, and her birth is around 1795.
