Looking for any one who can help me with my search. I can take my family line back a good way, but I can't get to Scotland. I was told many years ago about the family was not because of my age ago to do or look things up. We moved all the time due to my dad being in the service. My GGrandmother was Syliva Rush she was married to Neasley Ray Maxwell b.25 Dec 1888 d.1975 in Glouster, Ohio and buried at: Beech Grove Cemetery, Perry County, Ohio. Granny (Syliva) was able to take me back to my GGGGrandfather Robert Maxwell who was married to Mary Alexander, Here is where I stop. Robert Maxwell did have a son named: Jacob Neasley Maxwell b.21 Jul 1817 d.21 Mar 1909 and he was buried in Hartleyville Athens Co., Ohio. This all I can remember about this side of the family the (America's) but I also remember Granny talking about Scotland, she said something about the Battle of Lockerbie where someone was cut on the ear by a relitive and thats where the name came from "Lockerbie" (I'm sorry it's been to many years since I was told these stories, I was told back in the 70's and I was only 10 or 11 years old). I guess I am trying to make the cross over from Scotland to Ohio is there anyone out there that may be able to help with this! Thank you so much!
