I submitted my DNA to the  Maxwell Family Y-DNA study and received my results in December.  I match 5 people with 66 to 67 markers, you are top of my list, the other 4 are less probable since they were in USA ahead of my ancestors. FamilyTreeDna  states I have a better than 95% chance of being related to your family.

My oldest proven ancestor is John Maxwell born 1793 in County Tyrone. His father is likely William Maxwell since he names his eldest son William.

In your Family there is Alexander Maxwell(c 1680-1766) of Balmangan, Newlaw and at least a half share in  Breoch out of which he was paid a One Hundred Pound annuity until 1766, the year he died. He married Barbara Maxwell in 1703, she died in 1716  and is buried in Buittle Kirkyard with a number of relatives, there is a Monumental Inscription.  This is your family.

Alexander Maxwell remarried and had a large number of children by  this second wife. In the Parish records of New Abbey there is a John Maxwell christened 2 November 1720 and his father is Alexander Maxwell in these records. Giving the small number of Maxwells and the relative rarity of Alexander as a first name, I speculate that there is a chance this is a son of Alexander Maxwell of Balmangan. The odds improve because a John Maxwell married Jean Charters on 26 March 1745 in Buittle Kirk and they are both buried in the Kirk Cemetery an d there is a Monumental Inscription . He is described "in  Kirkland' a small farm that appears in Property records of the time.
They have a son William christened at Buittle on 17 March 1765.
This I speculate could be the father of my John Maxwell. I find records of my William Maxwell in County Fermanagh and Tyrone from the 1790's forward. I want to establish this link.

I am enthusiastically trying to build these connections. Do you have any data on the children of the second Marriage of Alexander Maxwell sometime after 1716 but before 1718 when Marion is born to Alexander and christened at New abbey on 15 October 1718.
Critically I want to establish if John was the son of Alexander Maxwell of Balmangan. I am hoping you have family records that can help me in my quest.

Thank you.
