Ginger, and all fellow researchers:

I have a dead end I'm trying to overcome.  My father-in-law is a MAXWELL whose surname lineage exists primarily in central Alabama back to about 1800.  However, before that, I don't know very much.

My data is available for viewing at this link:
http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=PED&db=normanroots&id=I4

One of the CORRY descendants (CORRY is allied to this line of MAXWELLs) has the earliest known MAXWELL ancestor of my father-in-law's line as William A. Maxwell from Pendleton District in South Carolina.  I don't have anything else to substantiate this.

Request any help with this log jam.  If you are a distant cousin (or think you may be), please consider joining the MAXWELL DNA study administered by Don Maxwell.  The DNA signature I'm interested in matching is given at Ysearch.org:
http://www.ysearch.org/lastname_view.asp?uid=8GMYD&letter=&lastname=Maxwell&viewuid=8GMYD&p=0&ped=true
Alternately, if you have traditional research that can help, I'd love to see that, too.

Thanks for listening!
