I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, and I apologize in advance if this is wrong line, but I have deed that might or might not provide insight. In Davidson County, TN, the heirs of James Maxwell (he died in 1826)sold property in 1827.  They(heirs of James Maxwell), at the time of 1827, were living in Madison County, AL.  Perhaps this David Maxwell could be the son of James Maxwell.  A David Maxwell, among others, was a signer of this deed.  Thank you.
