Hi I am a cousin of yours. My grandfather was you grandmothers brother.I live in Huron County in Ontario and this article was in the local Paper in Scotland and was brought to me by my brother who was out visiting this summer.I hope it intersts you.
From Wendy Gibson, New South Wales, Australia:

During early April 2009 I will be coming to Dalbeattie with my husband to trace my ancestors and hopefully meet some relatives. As a child my grandmother Annie MAXWELL born in 1885, the 13th child of Thomas Maxwell told me many stories about her family who lived at 62 High Street, Dalbeattie. Her father was Thomas MAXWELL who was a butcher and she often mentioned two of her sisters, Jessie who was older and Cordelia who was younger (both of whom married Americans, one with a link to President Grover Cleveland) and two brothers, William and George. One of her brothers was the father of John Maxwell the well known Scottish painter. Before arriving in Dalbeattie I would like to contact someone either in the Maxwell family or another person who could assist me finding out more about my ancestors and living relatives who might still be in the Dalbeattie area. My grandmother passed on quite a lot of information about the Maxwell family members and Dalbeattie generally which might be of great interest to others. Any assistance you can give me with this quest would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There is an article in the Dumfries and Galloway Standard dated August 7th 2009. This article is the result of the above request which was printed earlier. The Dorothy Casbolt is my Aunt and the last living child of Alexander Maxwell who would be a brother of your Grandmother Jessie Maxwell I also know that another sister Cordelia came out to North America but do not know where she settled. Let me know if you would like any other information.  Regards Kay Mailloux
