hi jennifer was pleased to see your message. I think you will be the Jenny that is working in Arran as a journalist. I know this because your grandmother Hilda wrote to me at Christmas.I came to Scotland about three years ago and visited her, she gave us some lovely memories, played golf with my husband Tony. I had some interesting letters, and a diary of my grandmothers and her mother Jane Henderson Maxwell, so i deposited them with the Kirkcudbright museum, the transcript of the diary is facinating and written mainly during the 1st World War, mentioning names of many of the boys that went off to war as she used to take them to the station in the car or the cart and her horse Pinder. It was written in pencil she must have kept it in her pocket its tiny but so much in it, the names of the boys who died are on the memmorial in Twynholm. Also a short life history of my grandmother, so interesting to anyone in the family. Say hello to your nana for me, I feel a great fondness and connection to my scots roots.
